Ordinary dry-seed storage is poorly suited to mango because its seeds are sensitive to drying. A bag of saved stones also cannot reliably preserve a selected sexual seedling's genotype. Plan conservation around correctly identified living material and specialist conservation advice rather than assuming a dry packet is an adequate backup. Maintain duplicate records and verify the identity of any backup plants as carefully as the primary collection.
