When material is combined, retain all contributing sources rather than replacing them with an unexplained new identifier. Reconcile quantities with samples, rejects, and remaining stock where practical. These links allow the business to identify affected product without assuming that a merged shipment has only one origin or that every split carton traveled to the same customer.
