Getting StartedWhat do field capacity and plant-available water mean in mango planning notes?
Field capacity describes soil water remaining after excess gravitational water has drained. Plant-available water is the portion between that reference and the level at which roots can no longer extract enough water. These are soil-water concepts, not universal mango watering targets. They help explain why equal soil volumes can store different useful water reserves and why a soil can contain water that is difficult for roots to obtain.
