Getting StartedCan one inch of rain falling quickly differ from one inch spread through a day at a mango site?
The total depth is the same, but intensity changes runoff, infiltration, erosion, and the duration of wet conditions. Keep storm timing or intensity observations when those processes matter. A daily total alone cannot explain whether water entered the mango root zone gradually or mostly ran off a compacted slope during a short downpour.
