Mango FAQ

1 FAQ

Getting StartedWhy is standard deviation not interchangeable with standard error in a mango trial table?

Standard deviation describes variation among observations; standard error concerns the estimated precision of a summary such as the mean under its sampling assumptions. Smaller error bars do not necessarily mean individual trees were more uniform. Read the table's definition and experimental unit before comparing mango variability or deciding how consistently a treatment performed.
