Mango Varieties & IdentificationWhat should I retain from the different Kesar naming stories?
The Kesar and Gir Kesar entries connect the name with saffron and with the Junagadh region, but the Gir Kesar account also acknowledges alternative origin stories. Preserve that regional and naming context while treating the exact narrative as reported history. A colorful story can enrich a cultivar record without proving that a particular modern plant traces directly to the original tree.
