Mango Varieties & IdentificationWhat plant does the name Bachang or Horse Mango describe?
Singapore's botanical profile associates these common names with Mangifera foetida. It describes thick leathery leaves, reddish flowers, and strongly scented ripe fruit. This is a related species rather than another name for a standard Mangifera indica cultivar. If the name appears in a nursery offer, establish the species first so ordinary dessert-mango expectations are not applied automatically.
