The botanical account treats Mangifera x odorata as a hybrid between Mangifera foetida and Mangifera indica. The multiplication sign marks that hybrid status in the scientific name. It does not mean the tree carries several grafted cultivars. Preserve the botanical notation in your notes rather than interpreting it as a nursery count or as proof of an ordinary within-species cultivar cross.
