Mango FAQ

1 FAQ

Growing & Tree CareHow can I keep an established multigrafted mango from losing its weaker varieties?

Map each variety's branch before pruning and compare how much leafy space each occupies. Where a vigorous variety is shading a weaker one, selectively reduce the competitor while retaining useful foliage on the weaker branch. Equal branch lengths are not the goal; each variety needs a workable place in the canopy. Recheck after subsequent flushes because one successful balancing cut does not prevent renewed competition.
