Growing & Tree CareWhat can canopy volume tell me that canopy height alone cannot?
Height misses horizontal spread, so two equally tall mangoes can occupy very different amounts of space. Record width in consistent directions alongside height when comparing managed trees. If using a calculated canopy volume, state the shape assumption and use it consistently. Volume is a size estimate, not a direct measure of leaf density, structural strength, or productive wood; retain photographs and harvest observations alongside the calculation.
