Growing & Tree CareHow is subordinating a mango limb different from removing it?
Subordination reduces a competing limb's extension while retaining part of its foliage and connection. It can be an option when complete removal would create an unnecessarily large wound or remove too much canopy at once. The retained limb still needs follow-up assessment. Discuss this as a structural treatment with an arborist rather than repeatedly heading the branch to an arbitrary stub.
