Growing & Tree CareHow is a mango's root flare different from its graft union?
The root flare is the transition where the trunk broadens into the main roots; the graft union joins the selected top to the rootstock farther up the plant. Identify both rather than mistaking one swelling for the other. Excess nursery soil can conceal the root flare. Ask the supplier to clarify uncertain anatomy before using the surface of that soil as the planting-depth reference.
