Mango FAQ

Growing & Tree CareWhen should elective sprout thinning begin on a severely storm-stripped mango?

Recovery sprouts help rebuild leaf area and stored reserves. Removing them aggressively before the tree has recovered substantial foliage can prolong a cycle of resprouting and depletion. Separate immediate hazards from elective training and have the restoration schedule matched to actual recovery. Later visits can progressively select a durable replacement crown instead of treating the first flush as excess growth.
