Multiply each emitter's measured gallons per hour by its operating time in hours, then add the outlets serving that tree. For example, two emitters each delivering 1 gallon per hour for half an hour supply 1 gallon together. Use measured output when troubleshooting rather than assuming the printed rating still applies. The total describes delivery; moisture checks are still needed to learn how much useful root-zone soil was wetted.
