Collect its discharge for a measured period, determine the gallons collected, and scale that amount to an hour. A quarter gallon collected over 15 minutes corresponds to 1 gallon per hour. Use the same interval for the outlets being compared and avoid disturbing their normal operating conditions. Repeat an unexpected result before changing the schedule, since a spill or timing error can look like a delivery defect.
