Mango FAQ

1 FAQ

Soil, Fertilizer & WateringHow do saline and sodic soil problems differ beneath a mango?

Salinity concerns excessive dissolved salts that make water uptake harder. Sodicity concerns excessive sodium relative to other cations and can damage soil structure and infiltration. Both can occur together. Request tests that distinguish these conditions before selecting a remedy; a crust, poor growth, or high pH alone cannot show which process is limiting the tree.
