Soil, Fertilizer & WateringWhat does air-filled porosity mean in a mango nursery substrate?
Air-filled porosity describes the portion of the substrate volume occupied by air after drainage. It differs from total pore space, which also includes water-filled pores. A mix can hold plenty of water yet provide insufficient aeration. Ask how physical properties were measured and in what container, then judge them alongside drainage and root development in the intended nursery system.
