Soil, Fertilizer & WateringCan soil still contain water when a mango can no longer extract enough of it?
Yes. As soil dries, the remaining water can be held too tightly for roots to obtain it effectively. Permanent wilting point describes that lower reference condition; it does not mean every pore is empty. Base irrigation decisions on plant-available storage and an appropriate earlier trigger rather than waiting for the soil to appear completely dry or the canopy to suffer lasting injury.
