Soil, Fertilizer & WateringWhy can ammonium and nitrate results help assess compost intended for mangoes?
During curing, accumulated ammonium generally shifts toward nitrate as conditions permit nitrification. High ammonium relative to nitrate can therefore warn that the material is not fully mature. Interpret the analysis with other maturity tests and the proposed use. The ratio is a compost-quality clue, not a direct instruction to add nitrogen to the mango tree.
