Soil, Fertilizer & WateringHow is a soil-tension reading different from volumetric water content beneath mangoes?
Tension describes how strongly soil holds water, while volumetric content describes the fraction of soil volume occupied by water. Their relationship depends on soil properties. Identify which quantity the instrument reports before interpreting the number. A percentage from one sensor and a tension value from another cannot be compared as though they use the same scale.
