Soil, Fertilizer & WateringWhy does soil carbon stock require depth and bulk density as well as a percentage?
A concentration describes the fraction of the sample, while a stock describes an amount within a defined soil volume or area. Depth, bulk density, and coarse fragments influence that conversion. Retain those measurements when estimating carbon beneath mangoes rather than assuming equal percentages at two sites mean equal stored amounts per acre.
