Water can bypass the intended test area along gaps created during installation or through open cracks. Record the surface condition and installation method, and repeat unsuitable tests rather than treating rapid disappearance as uniformly good infiltration. Preferential flow may carry water away without thoroughly wetting the soil volume occupied by mango roots.
