Report both the number of grafting attempts and the number of individual rootstocks that eventually produce acceptable plants. A successful second attempt does not erase the first failure, and counting it twice as two finished trees inflates output. Keep each attempt linked to its plant. This separates technique performance from final nursery recovery and makes labor and scion use easier to interpret.
