Grafting & PropagationWould an air layer taken above a mango graft retain the donor tree's rootstock?
An air layer forms roots on the selected branch, so a layer taken from the scion canopy does not carry the donor's original rootstock with it. Record it as a different propagation arrangement even when the canopy cultivar is preserved. Its establishment and later performance need assessment on that basis. Do not assume that reproducing the scion also reproduces the rootstock contribution of the original grafted tree.
