Mango FAQ

Grafting & PropagationIs cryopreserving mango embryogenic tissue equivalent to putting scionwood in a freezer?

No. Mango cryopreservation research uses selected embryogenic cultures with controlled pretreatment, dehydration, cooling, and recovery procedures. It does not establish that detached shoots tolerate household freezing. For conservation, work with a laboratory able to recover plants from the stored material. Specify exactly which tissue and recovery method are preserved before describing a collection as having a cryogenic backup.
