Some mango embryogenic-culture procedures begin with nucellar tissue from immature fruit at a suitable developmental stage. That creates a seasonal collection opportunity rather than an unlimited supply of equivalent tissue throughout the year. Coordinate the laboratory, donor trees, and collection observations in advance. Mature market fruit should not be substituted solely because it is easier to obtain when the required stage has passed.
