Mango FAQ

Grafting & PropagationWhy might mango embryogenic cultures be multiplied in liquid but developed on solid medium?

The conditions favoring rapid culture proliferation need not favor formation of normal embryos. Mango research found efficient suspension growth followed by improved embryo production after transfer to solid medium. Evaluate growth quantity and embryo quality separately when designing a sequence. Retaining everything in the fastest-growing medium can miss the later developmental requirement that makes the multiplied tissue useful for propagation.
