Mango FAQ

Grafting & PropagationWhy monitor rooting-medium temperature separately from air temperature for mango cuttings?

Experiments with mango cuttings under mist have shown that bottom temperature affects the speed and success of root initiation. The air around leaves does not necessarily describe conditions at the cutting bases. Measure the rooting zone when evaluating a heated bench. Judge the response of the tested material rather than increasing heat simply because mango is regarded as a warm-climate crop.
