Intermittent mist limits water loss from unrooted cuttings by managing their immediate leaf environment. The rooting medium still needs its own moisture and aeration assessment. Increasing mist to correct a dry medium can change leaf wetness and temperature without supplying water uniformly below. Manage the two functions deliberately during an experimental mango-cutting program instead of using one timer setting as a complete water-management plan.
