Grafting & PropagationDoes grafting a selected mango rootstock as a scion multiply that rootstock's root system?
It preserves the selected material above the new union, but the roots still belong to the receiving plant. Producing copies of the selected genotype as actual rootstocks requires an appropriate clonal-root production method or verified apomictic material. Keep canopy preservation and rootstock multiplication distinct in a nursery plan. A successful graft alone does not turn the receiving roots into the donor genotype.
