Mango FAQ

1 FAQ

Grafting & PropagationWhy can freshly transferred mango microplants wilt before their potting mix dries?

Plants formed in protected culture can have poor control of water loss and limited photosynthetic competence when first exposed to nursery conditions. Moist substrate alone cannot compensate for an abrupt increase in atmospheric demand. Coordinate the transfer with the laboratory's acclimatization procedure and observe the plants closely. Repeatedly saturating the mix may add a root problem without addressing the difficult environmental transition.
