Grafting & PropagationDoes a protocol that regenerates monoembryonic mango tissue prove that the fruit's sexual embryo was cloned?
Not necessarily. A laboratory can regenerate embryos from maternal nucellar tissue even when the cultivar normally has a single sexual embryo in its seed. The explant's tissue of origin determines which genetic material was cultured. Record that origin explicitly rather than inferring it from the cultivar's seed type or calling every regenerated embryo a copy of the seedling inside the fruit.
