It affects available nutrients, water, and the physical environment relative to the amount of tissue. Identical ingredient concentrations do not make a nearly empty vessel equivalent to a well-supplied one. Record medium volume and explant loading so a comparison of multiplication treatments does not unintentionally compare different supply conditions.
