Distillation and subsequent sterile handling are different issues. Water can acquire contamination during collection, storage, or dispensing after treatment. Use water prepared and maintained according to the laboratory protocol, with suitable verification where needed. A label describing water purity does not by itself establish that an opened container remains free of viable microbes.
