Decide whether the observation measures visits or individual insects. Repeated landings can count as separate visits under a defined rule, but they cannot establish how many different insects were present. Record the observation duration and watched flowers with the result. Use the same rule throughout a comparison so one observer's landing total is not compared with another observer's estimate of unique visitors.
