Record zero only when the planned flowers were actually watched for the defined period and no qualifying visits occurred. Mark an interrupted session, an obscured panicle, or an unvisited tree as missing or incomplete instead. Keep weather and open-bloom condition with each observation. This prevents gaps in coverage from appearing as biological inactivity when the records are summarized later.
