Mango FAQ

1 FAQ

Flowering & PollinationHow should male-only mango flowers be treated when assessing a pollen source?

A male flower cannot become a fruit, but its pollen-bearing role can still matter. Assess the donor for pollen availability at the relevant time rather than judging it only by the number of bisexual flowers or eventual fruit. For the receiving tree, record receptive flower availability separately. The two roles belong in different columns when investigating whether a proposed donor and recipient can function together.
