Flowering & PollinationHow should bisexual-flower percentages from different mango panicles be combined?
Retain the number of flowers examined and the number classified as bisexual for every panicle. For a pooled percentage, divide the total bisexual count by the total examined count. Simply averaging percentages gives a small sample as much influence as a large one. Also retain individual panicle results, since a pooled figure can hide important variation in flower composition across the canopy.
