Mango FAQ

1 FAQ

Flowering & PollinationHow should flower counts be compared when mango panicles are examined destructively?

Mark sampled panicles as removed or altered and retain their counts separately from clusters followed for later reproductive performance. A panicle dissected to classify flowers cannot also represent an undisturbed pollination outcome. If both measurements are needed, use clearly identified comparable groups. Keep the sampling date and stage so removing flowers does not silently change the denominator used to describe the tree's remaining bloom.
