Not necessarily. Protected-cultivation research has measured differences in nectar quantity and composition between flower types. An equal flower count therefore need not represent an equal food reward for visiting insects. When investigating floral attractiveness, identify the flower types and conditions examined. Do not assume that a difference observed in one experimental planting supplies a fixed nectar ratio for every mango tree.
