Flowering & PollinationCan ordinary flower photographs show all the visual signals available to mango pollinators?
No. Research on protected mango flowers has identified ultraviolet color patterns that ordinary photographs made for human viewing do not describe. Visible flower color remains useful documentation, but it is not a complete measure of insect-facing appearance. If attraction is the research question, use suitable imaging and behavioral methods rather than concluding from a phone photograph that two flower displays provide identical visual cues.
