Mango FAQ

1 FAQ

Flowering & PollinationAre surrounding tree plantations equivalent to natural forest for mango pollination?

They should not be assumed equivalent. Tropical landscape research found that habitat type and structure influenced pollinator communities, with mango fruit set positively associated with surrounding forest cover. A uniformly green landscape can still differ greatly in usable insect resources. Describe the vegetation surrounding a planting rather than recording only total tree cover, and avoid transferring a forest-associated result directly to any planted woodland.
