Flowering & PollinationWhy record mango visitors moving between trees as well as between flowers?
Many successive flower visits can occur within one tree without bringing pollen from another cultivar. Research evaluating mango pollinators has included the probability of changing trees as a separate behavior. Record that movement when cross-pollen supply is the question. A visitor that deposits pollen effectively on individual flowers may still provide a different cross-pollination service from one moving frequently among suitable donor and recipient trees.
