It describes an unusual internal pollen-tube route into the ovule. Mango microscopy has traced tubes through a tissue bridge and associated ovular tissues rather than the usual entry route described for many flowering plants. This matters when choosing sections and interpreting images in reproductive research. A generic flower diagram may not show where a mango pollen tube should actually be sought inside the ovary.
