Mango FAQ

1 FAQ

Flowering & PollinationCan a mango's previous crop affect flowering signals after the fruit has been harvested?

Yes. Mango studies comparing prior fruit loads have detected later differences in flowering-related gene expression. An empty canopy at the observation date does not erase the tree's earlier reproductive history. Keep the preceding crop record when evaluating return bloom or a flowering experiment. This supports investigating a carryover effect, but it does not justify assigning every light bloom to one molecular mechanism.
