Flowering & PollinationHow do calyx and corolla differ when examining mango flowers?
The calyx consists of sepals and the corolla consists of petals. Neither should be counted as a fertile stamen or a receiving stigma. These distinctions make close photographs and dissections easier to interpret, especially after some floral parts have fallen, when a remaining structure can otherwise be assigned the wrong reproductive role.
