Fruit Development, Ripening & HarvestCan the percentage of mango fruit retained rise without the tree producing new fruit?
It can appear to rise if the observer changes the starting group or denominator. A retention record follows a defined set of fruitlets from its original count, so losses should not be erased by restarting with the survivors. If a new flowering group is added, identify it as a separate cohort. Keep the actual counts beside percentages to expose accidental changes in what is being compared.
