Use exactly the tissue specified by the maturity method. A preparation containing different fruit components is a different sample and should not automatically be judged against a flesh-based reference. Keep peel, flesh, and stone identities clear during preparation, and record any departure from the procedure. Consistent sampling is essential because an accurate weighing cannot make unlike sample materials directly comparable.
