The force recorded depends on the test configuration as well as the fruit. A probe passing through peel does not measure exactly the same response as one entering exposed flesh, and different probe diameters or penetration depths change the procedure. Keep those details with the result and use a consistent protocol. Do not interpret a change of method as a biological change in harvest maturity.
