Mango FAQ

1 FAQ

Fruit Development, Ripening & HarvestHow can magnetic resonance imaging help researchers follow mango ripening internally?

Magnetic resonance imaging can show internal water-related changes without cutting the same fruit at each observation. Mango studies have used it to examine spatial changes as ripening progresses and to investigate heat-treatment injury. Interpret images with the measurement method and other fruit-quality observations. This is a specialized research approach; a changing water signal should not automatically be translated into a direct sweetness or maturity reading.
